Milwaukee County is one of only SEVEN comunitiies in the nation named as "most livable for people of all ages" and recognized for "best practices that can be used by local governments thoroughout the country in preparing for the aging of the baby boom population" by the United States Administration on Aging

The federally designated Area Agency on Aging and the County Aging Unit for Milwaukee County residents age 60 and over.

The mission of the Milwaukee County Department on Aging is to affirm the dignity and value of older adults of Milwaukee County by supporting their choices for living in, and giving to, our community.

  FEMA UPDATE

Wisconsin residents now have until Monday, September 15, 2008, to register for disaster help from FEMA, SBA and other agencies. A toll-free helpline is available between 6 a.m. and 11 p.m. every day to take registrations: 1-800-621-FEMA (3362). Those with a hearing or speech impairment can call TTY-1-800-462-7585. Individuals and business owners also can register online at www.fema.gov
